Women and Religion

Female chief makes Church history
Woman cleric hails 'breakthrough'

And historical move has been in the endless battle between Religion and Women's role in it, in the United States, as Katharine Jefferts Schori became the first ever woman leader of an Anglican church, when she was appointed as leader of The US Episcopal Church. In her first public statement she says that "this move shows that women are not excluded from any role in the communion". She added that sexuality in the church was "a small piece compared to people who are dying because they are hungry or don't have treatment for malaria or AIDS - or whose children can't go to school because there aren't any schools or teachers."

As we move further into the 21st Century, I believe women will continue to achieve a much stronger and deserved role in Society. Not just in Religion, but in other segments as well.
